FAQ

  • How Long Should I Burn My 100% Soy Candle?
It’s good to be concerned about the length of time soy candles should be burned. You may not know that candles made from 100% soy wax have a ‘memory’ and should be allowed to achieve a full melt pool on its very first burn. If your candle is extinguished prior to allowing a full melt pool being achieved, all subsequent melt pools will not go past the first one. To create a full melt pool, burn the candle for a minimum of one hour for every inch of its diameter. All future burns should follow the first one’s path and melt fully to the sides of the container.
  • Can I simply blow out my candles?
You can but blowing out candles can cause splattering of hot wax or cause some of the wick to fly in the melt pool. It is best to extinguish your candle using a wick dipper. Simply push your wick into the wax pool to diffuse the flame and then pull it back up again and ensure it is centred. When completely cool you can trim your wick to ensure the wick height remains at 1/4″, this can be done by gently breaking the mushroom head of the wick with your fingers.
  • Why Does My 100% Soy Candle Look Frosty? Is It Drying Out?
Good news! Your soy candles will never dry out. Frosting is a natural characteristic that’s unique to pure soy candles. It’s part of the soy experience! Often the frosting of a soy candle is called the “bloom,” and it’s not a flaw. In fact, many customers become concerned if there is no frosting on their soy candles. It is a way that you can always tell if your candle is really made with pure, all-natural soy wax.
  • Why is there a wet spot on the soy candle jar?
This is completely normal and is generally caused by a change in temperature causing expansion and contraction of the soy wax. This does not affect the quality of your candle in any way.
  • Are Soy candles better for people with allergies/Asthma?
Not being a petroleum product seems to help. We have many customers that have allergies or asthma and are bothered by regular candles, but have no problem enjoying our soy candles.
